Officers received a notification from a license plate reader about a stolen vehicle on the island. After locating the vehicle, officers spoke with the driver, who told them that he had “just taken it” from the people he used to work for. He then turned around and placed his hands behind his back, stating “Let’s just get this over with”. After being placed under arrest, the man informed officers that there was a jar of Fetanyl and several syringes inside of the car, all of which were subsequently taken into custody as evidence. The man was then transported to the Chatham County Detention Center, where he was booked into custody on the charges of Possession of Drug Related Objects, Possession of a Controlled Substance and Theft by Receiving (Felony).
