Officers responded to the area of Highway 80, between Polk and McKenzie, in reference to a drunk man screaming profanity and hitting signs. While checking the area, an officer spotted a man “flipping him off” and screaming profanity in his general direction. After deciding that the man closely matched the description of the suspect, the officer pulled over to investigate further. While talking with the man, the officer noticed that he was very unsteady on his feet and slurred his words as he spoke. During the course of the conversation, the man told the officer that he was just “letting out some stress” and that the officer “should thank him for hitting signs and not hitting people”.

When asked where he was staying, the man indicated a house just around the corner from where they stood. As such, the officer instructed the man to walk home, or he would be placed under arrest. As the man walked away, he once again began to scream profanity and was subsequently placed under arrest for Public Drunkenness.
