On Sunday, December 18th, one of our officers was monitoring traffic along Butler Avenue when he checked a vehicle’s speed at 46mph in the 30mph zone. After stopping the vehicle, the officer was able to smell an odor similar to that of an alcoholic drink emitting from within. When asked about the smell, the driver claimed that he had spilled an alcoholic drink in the car sometime earlier. During the course of the subsequent investigation, officers found additional evidence to suggest that the man had been operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. They also learned that his driver’s license was suspended. The man was subsequently placed under arrest and charged with Speeding, Driving While License Suspended and DUI.

On Monday, December 19th, one of our officers was on patrol in the area of Highway 80 when they checked a vehicle’s speed at 52mph in a 30mph zone. After stopping the vehicle, the officer learned that the driver’s license was suspended. He was subsequently placed under arrest and charged with Speeding and Driving While License Suspended.

On the evening of Wednesday, December 21st, one of our officers was on patrol in the area of Highway 80 when he spotted a vehicle with a defective headlight. After stopping the vehicle, the officer learned that the driver’s license was suspended. The man was subsequently placed under arrest and charged with a Headlight Violation and Driving While License Suspended.
