• Officers responded to an address on Sanctuary Place in reference to Damage to Property. While speaking with our team, the caller stated that her garage door had been damaged by a brick. While checking the area, the officers noticed that the brick appeared to have been dislodged from a nearby driveway and launched into the door. While conducting a door-to-door canvass for video footage, officers were informed that construction contractors had been operating heavy machinery in the area recently. During the course of the investigation, an officer was able to locate both the contact information for the company, and a neighbor who said they may have camera footage of the incident.

    A report was filed, and the case remains under investigation.

  • Officers responded to a local business in reference to a commercial burglar alarm having been activated. Upon their arrival, our team discovered a door that had been left open. After clearing the inside of the business, officers contacted a keyholder, who responded to the scene. During a walkthrough with officers, the keyholder stated that nothing appeared to have been disturbed, and it is believed that employees left the door open by mistake.

    A report was filed, and no further action was taken during that time.

    Officers responded to a local motel in reference to a Hit and run. While speaking with our team, the caller stated that someone had struck his car before leaving the scene. While he didn’t see the accident happen, a witness was able to provide him with a description and license plate number of the suspect vehicle.

    A report was filed, and the case remains under investigation.

  • One of our officers stopped a vehicle for speeding and failing to maintain its lane. After introducing himself to the driver, the officer explained the reason for the stop. Confronted about this speeding, the man replied, “I’m used to driving fast. I’m from Texas”. During their conversation, the officer noticed that the driver’s eyes were red and that he slurred his words as he spoke. There was also an odor similar to that of an alcoholic drink wafting from his open window. When asked how much he had to drink that evening, the man replied, “not much”. During the course of the subsequent investigation, the officer found additional evidence to suggest that the man had been operating the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. He was then placed under arrest and charged with Speeding, Failure to Maintain Lane, and DUI.

  • One of our officers stopped a vehicle for speeding. While talking to the driver, the officer noticed that her eyes were watery and that the lids had a “droopy” appearance. When asked if she had any alcohol that evening, the woman admitted to having “one beer” several hours before. During the course of the subsequent investigation, however the officer found additional evidence to suggest that the woman had been operating the vehicle while under the influence. She was then placed under arrest and charged with Speeding and DUI.
