One of our officers stopped a vehicle for speeding and failing to maintain its lane. While talking to the driver, the officer noticed that she had a “dazed” look on her face. When asked, the woman admitted to having one Pina Colada, and stated that she takes prescription medication several times a day. During the course of the subsequent investigation, the officer found additional evidence to suggest that the woman had been operating the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and/or medication. She was then placed under arrest and charged with Speeding, Failure to Maintain Lane, Open Container, Suspended Registration, No Insurance, and DUI (Less Safe).

Officers responded to a residence under construction in reference to “fierce arguing and possible gun shots”. While speaking with our team, the caller stated that he noticed that one of the men on his construction crew appeared to be drunk on the job. At that time, he told the worker to clock out and go sit in his vehicle or be fired. When the worker repeatedly refused, he was fired. According to the caller, the worker then lunged at him, which resulted in a brief altercation between the two.
After the pair were separated, the irate worker allegedly retrieved a gun from a vehicle and fired a shot into the air. The caller then ran to the other side of the house and began to call the police. At that time, the worker reportedly walked around the house, waving the gun in the air, before being disarmed by another coworker.
He then allegedly picked up a 2×4 and struck the caller in the back, before throwing a tape measure at him.
During the course of the investigation, the worker was placed under arrest, and charged with Disorderly Conduct, Public Drunkenness, Reckless Conduct, Discharging a Firearm Near a Street, Battery, and Terroristic Threats.
The firearm was located, seized, and placed into the TIPD property room as evidence.
