There was also an odor similar to that of an alcoholic drink on her breath. During the course of their conversation, the woman told the officer that her passenger was in the midst of a seizure. As a result, the officer immediately contacted emergency medical personnel and asked that they respond to the scene.

Just after 10PM, one of our officers stopped a vehicle for having a defective headlight. While talking with the driver, the officer noticed that her eyes were red and that she slurred her words as she spoke. There was also an odor of marijuana wafting through her open window. When confronted about the smell, the woman produced a small amount of marijuana in a plastic bag.

During a search of the vehicle based on probable cause, officers also discovered several open bottles of alcohol. When asked, the woman admitted to having “one beer” earlier that evening. During the course of the subsequent investigation, however, the officer found additional evidence to suggest that the woman had been operating the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. She was then placed under arrest and charged with Headlight Requirements, Open Container, No License on Person, and DUI (Less Safe).

  • One of our officers was monitoring traffic when he checked a vehicle’s speed at 75 in a 35 on Highway 80. As the vehicle passed his location, the officer noticed that its taillights were not working as well. As he turned on his lights and sirens, the vehicle began to brake erratically, before accelerating to speeds estimated to be in excess of 100 mph. The vehicle then led the officer on a short pursuit along the highway, before turning into a residential area. After losing sight of the suspect, the officer immediately turned off all of his emergency equipment and terminated the pursuit.

  • Officers received a report in reference to a possible theft.
