• Officers responded to a local motel in reference to a guest who was refusing to leave after checkout time. While speaking with our team, motel staff stated that the woman had been “causing issues all weekend” and had been seen “screaming and behaving bizarrely.”

Officers then went to the woman’s room and attempted to convince her to pack her things and leave the property. When she repeatedly refused, they were left with no choice but to place her under arrest for Criminal Trespass. As the cuffs closed around her wrists, she suddenly blurted out, “Don’t take my dope!”. While taking a closer look, officers spotted several “lines” of a crystal-like substance on top of a dresser. Further investigation revealed that the substance tested positive for Methamphetamine, earning her an additional charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance.

  • Officers responded to the Tybee Island Maritime Academy in reference to a burglar alarm. While checking the property, our team found one of the doors to be unlocked. They then cleared the building, ensuring that no uninvited guests were inside. A report was filed, and no further action was taken during that time.

  • Officers responded to a local nursing home in reference to a disorderly patient. While speaking with our team, a staff member reported that a patient had been “verbally abusing and making sexual comments to her all day long”. The patient denied making the statements and asked for a new nurse. A report was filed, and no further action was taken during that time.

One of our officers stopped a vehicle for speeding. While talking to the driver, the officer noticed that his eyes were bloodshot, and that there were two frozen alcoholic drinks sitting in plain view in the vehicle’s cupholders. When asked, the man admitted to drinking.
