On Sunday, 01/02, one of our officers responded to an address on Miller Avenue in reference to a report of criminal damage to property. Upon arrival, the officer spoke with the victim, who pointed out that three of tires on their vehicle had been slashed sometime during the night prior.

On Tuesday, 01/04, our officers received a “Be on the Lookout” for a possible drunk driver in a Sports Utility Vehicle. Shortly thereafter, one of our officers was operating stationary RADAR on Highway 80 when he spotted a SUV that matched the description. After checking the vehicle’s speed at 53 MPH in a 35 MPH zone, the officer initiated a traffic stop. While speaking with the driver, the officer was able to tell that her speech was slurred and that she had an odor similar to that of an alcoholic drink emitting from her breath. When asked, the driver admitted to having two drinks but adamantly refused to participate in Standardized Field Sobriety Testing. During the course of the investigation, the officer also spotted two open containers of alcohol inside of the SUV. The driver was placed under arrest and booked into custody on the charges of Speeding, Open Container, Refusal to Sign a Citation and Driving Under the Influence.
