Tuesday night, our team responded to a report of a disorderly person hanging around outside of a local business. Upon their arrival, officers spotted a man standing outside of the building while seemingly yelling at someone within. While speaking with officers, the man indicated that he was waiting to talk to one of the employees with whom he previously had a personal relationship. Throughout the investigation, the man’s aggressive and belligerent behavior gave our officers cause for concern for the safety of the employee. As such, the man was placed under arrest and charged with Loitering and Prowling.
On Wednesday, 02/02, officers responded to Butler Avenue in reference to a single vehicle crash. While speaking with our team, the driver stated that he fell asleep behind the wheel, at which time his car left the roadway, striking a light pole, a parking meter and a parked car. According to officers on scene, the force of the impact pushed the parked vehicle forward approximately 10 yards. The at-fault driver was cited for Failure to Maintain Lane and Expired Tag.
On Thursday, 02/03, officers responded to Blanco and Tybrisa in reference to Water Department employees having discovered a bone while digging in the area. Though it appeared to belong to an animal, the bone was collected as evidence and photographs were sent to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation for identification. The following day, the Crime Lab confirmed that the bone did not belong to a human. As such, the case was closed.
