• While on patrol, one of our officers spotted a pickup truck driving the wrong way on Inlet Avenue at a high rate of speed. As the officer watched, the truck continued across Butler Avenue onto Tybrisa, failing to yield to oncoming traffic as it went. After stopping the truck, the officer immediately noticed that the driver’s eyes were “glossy”, and that he slurred his words as he spoke. When asked, the man admitted to drinking one “Four Loko” several hours before. During the course of the subsequent investigation, the officer found additional evidence to suggest that the man had been operating the truck while under the influence of alcohol. He was then placed under arrest and charged with Wrong Way on a One Way Street, Too Fast for Conditions and DUI (.08 or more).
