One of our officers responded to the North Beach parking lot in reference to a possible theft. While speaking with our teammate, the victim stated that someone had stolen her license plate.
A check of our FLOCK license plate reader system revealed that the plate’s last known location was on Tybrisa Street, two days prior.
A report was filed, and the victim was provided with information for follow-up.

One of our officers stopped a truck for speeding. Upon walking up to the window, he noticed that the vehicle was overflowing with passengers, several of whom were not wearing seatbelts.
While talking to the driver, the officer noticed the distinct odor of marijuana wafting through the open window. A subsequent search based on probable cause revealed several burned marijuana cigarettes, and an open bottle of liquor. The driver was then cited for Speeding, No License on Person, Seatbelt violation, and Open Container before being released from the scene.

Officers responded to a local bar in reference to a possible theft. While speaking with our team, the victim stated that someone had stolen his electric bicycle from where it was parked in front of the establishment.
A report was filed, and the case remains under investigation.

One of our officers stopped a vehicle for speeding.
While talking to the driver, the officer took note of the fact that he was wearing sunglasses at night. There was also an odor similar to that of an alcoholic drink wafting through the open window. When asked, the man admitted to drinking “one shot” prior to getting behind the wheel.
During the course of the subsequent investigation, however, the officer found additional evidence to suggest that the man had been operating the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. He was then placed under arrest, and charged with Speeding, Suspended Registration, No Insurance, Open Container, and DUI (Less Safe).

One of our officers stopped a vehicle for speeding.
While talking to the driver, the officer noticed that his eyes were “glossy”, and his face was flushed. When asked, the man admitted to having “a beer” earlier in the day. During the course of the subsequent investigation, however, the officer found additional evidence to suggest that the man had been operating the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. He was then placed under arrest and charged with Speeding and DUI (.08 or more).

One of our officers stopped a vehicle for failing to yield the right of way to pedestrians in a marked crosswalk.
While speaking with the driver, the officer learned that she did not have a license. She was then placed under arrest and charged accordingly.

One of our officers responded to the 16th Street parking lot in reference to damage to property.
While speaking with our team, the teenaged victim stated that he had been joking around with several classmates while fishing on the pier. When he returned to his vehicle, he found it covered in White Claw, chunked mullet, fish blood, and Chick-fil-a sauce.
A report was filed, and the case remains under investigation.

Officers responded to the area of 12th and Miller in reference to a single vehicle accident. Once on scene, our team found a vehicle in the marsh, resting against a palm tree. A closer look revealed that the tree had prevented the vehicle from completely rolling over.
While talking to the driver, officers noticed that her eyes were “glossy”, and her face was flushed. There was also a strong smell similar to that of an alcoholic drink coming from her breath as she spoke. When asked if she had any alcohol that even, the woman replied that she had “a few”.
During the course of the subsequent investigation, the officer found additional evidence to suggest that the driver had been operating the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. She was then placed under arrest, and charged with Failure to Maintain Lane, and DUI (.08 or more).

One of our officers responded to a vacation rental company in reference to found property. While speaking with our teammate, employees provided him with a handgun which had been left behind at one of their properties.
The officer took custody of the weapon and logged it into our evidence room for safekeeping.
