The officer also learned that the woman had already been issued a city ordinance ticket for Disobeying a Lifeguard, but she had torn it up and thrown the pieces into the sand. Upon his arrival, our officer spotted the woman in question staggering towards the water. After stopping to speak with her, the officer noticed that there was a strong odor similar to that of an alcoholic drink surrounding her and that she slurred her words when she spoke. After being told that she needed to leave the beach, the woman refused, at which point the officer moved to place her under arrest. As he did so, the woman put up brief resistance before her arms were handcuffed behind her back. While at the jail, she shoved one officer and struck another in the body camera attached to his vest.
