• Officers responded to a local bar in reference to a woman reportedly punching a man. While talking to the suspect, officers noted that she had trouble maintaining her balance and slurred her words as she spoke. During the course of the conversation, the woman suddenly began to pull her clothes off, exposing herself while standing on the sidewalk. She was then placed under arrest and charged with Disorderly Conduct.

  • Around 3:00AM, one of our officers spotted a man walking along the double yellow line in the middle of Butler Avenue. After stopping the man, the officer noticed that there was an odor similar to that of an alcoholic drink coming off of him, and that he slurred his words as he spoke. When asked, the man admitted that he was 19-year-old, and that he had drank several "twisted teas" before going on a walk to clear his head. He was then placed under arrest and charged with Public Drunkenness.

    Officers stopped a vehicle for speeding and failing to maintain its lane on Butler Avenue. While talking with the driver, one officer noticed that his eyes were bloodshot and that he slurred his words as he spoke. There was also an odor similar to that of an alcoholic drink emitting from within the vehicle. During the course of the subsequent investigation, the officer found additional evidence to suggest that the man had been operating the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. He was then placed under arrest, and charged with Speeding, Failure to Maintain Lane, Defective Brake Light, Seatbelt Violation, and DUI.

  • One of our officers watched a vehicle fail to stop for the stop sign at Van Horn and Fort Street. As it turned onto Fort, the officer noticed that it matched the description of a suspect vehicle involved in an earlier investigation. At that time, the officer activated his lights and sirens and proceeded after it. After turning onto Polk, the suspect vehicle made its way to Highway 80, where it began to flee westbound. Traveling at speeds estimated to be in excess of 80mph, the suspect attempted to turn onto Catalina Drive, striking a tree in the process. As the pursuit continued into Spanish Hammock, the suspect pulled into a dirt lot and attempted to turn around, at which time the vehicle collided with a mailbox. Moments later, officers succeeded in stopping the car, and removed the suspect from the vehicle. He was then placed under arrest and charged with Speeding, Failure to Maintain Lane, Reckless Driving, Fleeing and Attempting to Elude, Duty Upon Striking a Fixed Object, Open Container, and DUI (Less Safe).

  • One of our officers stopped a vehicle for failing to maintain its lane. While talking with the driver, the officer noticed that his eyes were red. The officer also noticed that the man seemed to move and speak very slowly. During the course of the subsequent investigation, the officer found additional evidence to suggest that the man had been operating the vehicle while under the influence of an unknown substance. He was then placed under arrest, and charged with Failure to Maintain Lane, and DUI 9Drugs - Less Safe). While conducting an inventory of the man's vehicle, officers recovered a small amount of marijuana and a firearm. Both items were taken into police custody and deposited into evidence.

    One of our officers stopped a vehicle for a window tint violation. While speaking with the driver, the officer was able to smell the odor of marijuana emitting from within the vehicle. During the course of a search based on probable cause, officers located a glass pipe, along with small amounts of substances believed to be marijuana and crack cocaine. When asked, both the driver and passenger gave conflicting stories in regard to the ownership of the drugs. As a result, both were placed under arrest and charged with Possession of Drug Related Objects, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of a Schedule II Drug. The driver was also charged with a Window Tint Violation and Possession of a Controlled Substance, after a THC vape was found in his pocket.

  • Around 3:30AM, officers responded to a local bar in reference to a man refusing to leave before reportedly crawling UNDERNEATH the establishment. While talking to the suspect, officers noted that he was covered in dirt from head to toe, and obviously unsteady on his feet. They also noticed that his eyes were red, and that he slurred his words as he spoke. When asked where he was staying for the evening, the man simply replied, "down the road". When asked to clarify, he stated, "where my wife is". He was then placed under arrest and charged with Disorderly Conduct.

    While on patrol, one of our officers spotted a golf cart traveling on Butler Avenue without proper registration, or its amber safety light illuminated. After stopping the cart, the officer noticed that the driver's eyes were bloodshot and that he slurred his words as he spoke. When asked, the man admitted to having "a few drinks". During the course of the subsequent investigation, the officer found additional evidence to suggest that the man had been operating the cart while under the influence of alcohol. He was then placed under arrest, and charged with Golf Cart Violations, and DUI (Less Safe).

    Officers responded to the corner of Tybrisa and Butler Avenue in reference to a man pointing a gun at others. While speaking with officers, a woman stated that a man had been attempting to walk across Butler Avenue, when a vehicle pulled up and cut him off. As the driver and the pedestrian began to argue, the woman attempted to come to the pedestrian's defense. According to the woman, as the argument began to escalate, the driver pulled a handgun and pointed it at them both. Before the vehicle left the scene, the woman was able to obtain the license plate number, which she provided to our team. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the suspect vehicle. A report was filed, and the case remains under investigation.

  • Just before 3:00PM, officers responded to a report of an abandoned vehicle blocking traffic near Strand and 14th. Upon arrival, our team found a SUV parked in the middle of the road with all four windows rolled down and the hazard lights flashing. Further investigation revealed the vehicle to be a rental. While speaking with officers, witnesses stated that the driver claimed to have run out of gas but had walked away from the scene before anyone could offer help. Approximately 45 minutes later, as a tow truck arrived on scene, the driver returned with gas can in hand. He was then cited for obstructing traffic and moved the vehicle into a valid parking space.
