Offices responded to the North Beach parking lot in reference to a fight. While speaking with our team, one of the groups involved stated that the incident began while they were attempting to park in the lot. It was during that time that another vehicle honked its horn at them, before the occupants exited and began to yell at their group. They then provided officers with a video of the incident, which showed the occupants of the other vehicle shoving and attempting to hit members of their party.

While checking the area, officers located the members of the second group on the beach. As our team attempted to speak with them about the incident, the two women in the group began to yell and argue with officers. During this time, one of the women pulled out her cellphone to record, while also continuing to act in a disorderly manner. As she walked backwards away from one officer, she stumbled into a second, prompting him to place her in handcuffs.

At that time, the other woman spotted an officer speaking with one of the men in the group and walked over to interfere. She was also placed in handcuffs.

As this woman was being arrested, her boyfriend walked over and attempted to grab one of our team members. This prompted other officers on scene to tackle him to the ground. During this time, they noticed that he was very unsteady on his feet and appeared intoxicated. After confronting the man, officers noted that he made several nonsensical statements and slurred his words as he spoke. When asked how much alcohol he had that evening, the man replied that he was “from Louisiana”. As officers attempted to determine where he was supposed to be staying, the man pointed at a random woman and stated that he was “staying with her”.
