• Officers responded to a local restaurant in reference to fight. According to the manager, a customer had become upset over the services provided, and had begun to scream and shout at the staff. At one point, the man even attempted to gain entry into areas intended for “Employees Only”. After deciding to intervene, a patron at the bar stood up from his stool and told the suspect to leave. According to the manager, the suspect shoved the bar patron, and a fight ensued.

    During the course of the investigation, officers determined that the dissatisfied customer was the primary aggressor and placed him under arrest for Disorderly Conduct.

  • Just before 1:30 AM, one of our officers spotted a pickup truck driving on Highway 80 without taillights. After stopping the vehicle, the officer noted that the driver’s eyes were watery. When asked how much alcohol he had consumed that evening, the man indicated that he had “two beers within the last thirty minutes”. When asked if he would be willing to participate in Standardized Field Sobriety Testing, the man refused. He was then place under arrest and charged with No Brake Lights/Working Turn Signals and DUI (Less Safe).

    While conducting an investigation into a call for service, officers located a man passed out in a wooded area near the Byers Street beach crossover. After waking the man, officers noticed that he was extremely unsteady on his feet, and that there was a strong odor similar to that of an alcoholic drink emitting from his breath when he spoke. While attempting to communicate with the man, our team noticed that he appeared incapable of formig a coherent thought. He was then placed under arrest and charged with Public Drunkenness.

  • One of our officers stopped a vehicle for speeding and falling to maintain its lane. While talking with the driver, the officer noticed that his eyes were glossy, and his speech was slow. There was also an odor of marijuana emitting from within the car, and a short section of straw, similar to the type used to snort illegal substances, lying in plain view. Duin the course of the subsequent investigation, the officer found additional evidence to suggest that the man had been operating the vehicle while under the influence of an unknown substance. He was then placed under arrest and charged wit Speeding, Failure to Maintain Lane, Seatbelt Violation and DUI (Combo-Less Safe).

  • One of our officers stopped a vehicle for a violation of Georgia’s “Hands Free Law” and following another car too closely. While speaking with the driver, the officer was able to smell a strong odor of marijuana emitting from within the vehicle. A subsequent search based on probable cause led to the discovery of a small amount of marijuana, and a substance believed to be hallucinogenic mushrooms. The driver was then placed under arrest and charged with Hands Free Violation, Following Too Closely, Possession of Marijuana and Possession of a Controlled Substance (Mushrooms).

  • Officers responded to Inlet Avenue in reference to a suspicious person attempting to gain entry into someone’s residence. While speaking with our team, the occupants of the house stated that the man had ran away after they opened the door. They also reported that he had been speaking incoherently and seemed to be highly intoxicated. While checking the area, officers located the man attempting to conceal himself by standing flat against the back wall of the residence. He was then placed under arrest and charged with Disorderly Conduct.

    One of our officers stopped a golf cart for weaving within its lane while there were two children sitting on the back. While speaking with the driver, the officer noticed that his eyes were bloodshot and watery. When asked, the man admitted to drinking “two glasses of wine, about 45 minutes prior”. During the course of the subsequent investigation, the officer found additional evidence to suggest that the man had been operating the cart while under the influence of alcohol. He was then placed under arrest and charged with DUI (Less Safe) and Endangering a Child While DUI.

    One of our officers stopped a side-by-side cart for failing to stop at stop sign. While speaking with the driver, the officer noticed that his eyes were bloodshot and that there was an odor similar to that of an alcoholic drink coming from his breath. During the course of the subsequent investigation, the officer found additional evidence to suggest that the man had been operating the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. He was then placed under arrest and charged with Failure to Stop at a Stop Sign and DUI (Less Safe).

  • One of our officers stopped a vehicle for speeding. During the course of the investigation, the officer learned that the driver’s license was suspended. He was then placed under arrest and charged accordingly.
