On Wednesday, November 23rd, one of our officers was on patrol in the area of Butler Avenue when he spotted a vehicle traveling 15-20 miles per hour BELOW the posted speed limit. A check of the vehicle’s license plate revealed that it had no insurance and that the registration had been suspended. After conducting a traffic stop, officers spotted an open bottle of Vodka and prescription medication within. During the course of the subsequent investigation, the officer found additional evidence to suggest that the driver had been operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of both alcohol and medication. He was subsequently placed under arrest and charged with No insurance, Suspended Registration, Open Container and DUI.

On Thursday, November 24th, our officers responded to the area of Miller Avenue in reference to a group of suspicious people ringing doorbells and knocking on windows before running away. While speaking with our team, witnesses stated that they believed the culprits to be juveniles playing a game known as “Ding Dong Ditch” but added that the issue had been ongoing for the past 6-7 months. Parents are encouraged to help us keep their children safe by speaking with them about the dangers associated with trespassing on someone else’s property.
