On Wednesday, 11/24, one of our officers was on patrol in the area of Highway 80 when he used his RADAR device to check a vehicle’s speed at 55 in a 35 MPH zone. After stopping the vehicle, the officer noticed a toddler sitting on the lap of a passenger without a seatbelt. During the course of the investigation, the officer learned that the driver’s license was suspended. She was subsequently placed under arrest and charged with Speeding, Child Safety Restraint Violation and Driving While License Suspended.
On Thursday, 11/25, one of our officers was on patrol in the area of Highway 80 when he used his RADAR device to check a vehicle’s speed at 93 in a 45 MPH zone. After stopping the vehicle, the officer placed the driver under arrest for Speeding and Reckless Driving. While conducting an inventory of the vehicle prior to it being towed, the officer discovered drug related objects to include a grinder, rolling papers and makeshift pipe, as well as what appeared to be marijuana and crack cocaine. The driver was subsequently charged with Speeding, Reckless Driving, Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Related Objects.
