Officers responded to a local brewery in reference to a Burglary. While speaking with our team, the caller stated that when he came to open the store, he found the door already unlocked, and the cash register standing ajar. While reviewing surveillance video, the caller watched a former employee enter the closed brewery with a wide-brimmed hat and flashlight. The former employee then allegedly stole over $1,500 dollars before leaving the scene.
During the course of the investigation, the co-owner arrived at the brewery and told officers that he had received several text messages from the suspect. During the course of the text exchange, the suspect told the co-owner that he had his “Tax ID” and sent him his social security number as proof. The suspect then “thanked him for his benefits” and “warned him not to disrespect him again”. During this time, officers were shown a picture of the suspect and noted that he was wearing the same style hat seen in the video.
