During the evening hours of Saturday, 12/4, one of our officers was on patrol in the area of Highway 80 when he observed a pickup truck traveling eastbound without it’s headlights activated. As the officer caught up to the truck, he noted that the driver was also failing to maintain his lane by allowing the truck to cross over the double-yellow lines on the highway. After stopping the vehicle, the officer noticed that the driver had blood-shot eyes and an odor similar to that of an alcoholic beverage emitting from his person. During the course of the investigation, the officer found additional evidence to suggest the man had been operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. The driver was subsequently placed under arrest and charged with a Headlight Violation, Failure to Maintain Lane and Driving Under the Influence.
