• Officers responded to the area of Atlantic and Blanco in reference to an abandoned golf cart. After checking the cart for identifying markings and finding none, our team had it towed from the scene.

  • One of our officers stopped a vehicle for a tag light violation. While talking to the driver, the officer noticed that his eyes were bloodshot and that there was an odor similar to that of an alcoholic drink emitting from his breath as he spoke. When asked, the man admitted to having multiple drinks from multiple bars in Savannah. During the course of the subsequent investigation, officers found additional evidence to suggest that the man had been operating the vehicle while under the influence. He was then placed under arrest and charged with Tag Light Violation, Open Container, and DUI.

  • One of our officers was on an unrelated call at a local restaurant, when he was approached by the bartender about a man who had walked without paying his tab. The bartender further stated that according to a post on Facebook, that same man had walked out on tabs at three other establishments as well. After taking the information for a report, the officer followed up with employees at the other three businesses and confirmed that the information posted to social media was accurate. During the course of the investigation, at least two of the victims expressed a desire to pursue criminal charges. As a result, a report was filed, and the case was forwarded to investigations.

  • Officers responded to a report of a possible assault. While speaking with our team, the complainant stated that after walking out of a local restaurant the night before, he woke up on the ground next to his car with a head wound. A report was filed, and the case was forwarded to investigations.

    One of our officers stopped a vehicle for speeding. While talking to the driver, the officer noticed that the man appeared confused, and that there was an odor similar to that of an alcoholic drink wafting through his window. When asked, the man admitted to having “two beers and a martini”. During the course of the subsequent investigation, the officer found additional evidence to suggest that the man had been operating the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. He was then placed under arrest and charged with Speeding, Suspended Registration, and DUI.

  • One of our officers stopped a vehicle for Speeding and Failure to Maintain Lane. While talking to the driver, the officer noticed that his eyes were red, and that there was a 12 pack of beer in plain view. During the course of the subsequent investigation, the officer found additional evidence to suggest that the 20-year-old driver had been operating the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. He was then placed under arrest and charged with Speeding, Failure to Maintain Lane, and DUI (Less Safe).

  • One of our officers stopped a vehicle for a tag light violation. During the course of the investigation, the officer learned that the driver had an active warrant from another jurisdiction. He was then placed under arrest and transported to the Chatham County Detention Center to answer for his non-local warrant.
