• One of our officers stopped a vehicle for failing to maintain its lane. While talking to the driver, the officer noticed that she seemed to have trouble focusing on his questions and slurred her words as she spoke. There was also a visible cloud of smoke, and the lingering odor of marijuana wafting through her window. When asked if she would be willing to participate in Standardized Sobriety Testing, the woman just stared blankly, offering no response. She was then placed under arrest and charged with Failure to Maintain Lane and DUI (Less Safe). During a subsequent search of her vehicle based on probable cause, officers located a grinder, rolling papers, and a rolling tray, earning her an additional charge of Possession of Drug Related Objects.

  • Officers responded to a local motel in reference to found property. Whie speaking with our team, motel staff turned over a small plastic bag containing white powder residue, which they stated had been found in the parking lot. Officers then took custody of the bag and placed it into our Evidence Room to await destruction.

  • While on patrol, one of our officers was flagged down by a highly intoxicated man wearing a red and white striped shirt. While speaking with the officer, the man claimed that he had been forcibly removed from a nearby bar for no reason. Afterwards, he had been "verbally assaulted" by a random bystander, who he claimed exclaimed, "Where's Waldo?!"

During the course of the investigation, the officer spoke with employees of the bar who reported that the man became angry after they repeatedly refused to serve him alcohol. According to the employees, he then began to "push against the DJ's chest", at which point he was told to leave. When he refused, he was physically removed from the property. A report was filed, and no further action was taken during that time.

  • Officers responded to a local nursing home in reference to a stabbing. During the course of the investigation, officers learned that the incident began when one resident accused another of taking his can of Vienna Sausages. As the altercation escalated, one of the men brandished a knife, and allegedly stabbed the other in the chest. The injured resident was transported to a hospital for treatment, while the suspect was placed under arrest for Aggravated Assault and Possession of a Knife During the Commission of a Crime.

  • One of our officers was on foot patrol when he came across a man leaning face first against a telephone pole. At the time, the man's "bits and pieces" were bared, and he was actively peeing down the pole. The act of going potty in public had apparently taken a lot out of the man, as he had passed out in the process. After waking the suspect, the officer noticed that he smelled similar to an alcoholic drink and slurred his words as he spoke. The man was then placed under arrest and charged with both Public Drunkenness and Public Indecency.
