• Officers responded to an address on 18th Terrace in reference to suspicious activity. While speaking with our team, the complainant stated that during the night prior, her dog began to bark constantly, and she heard noises as if someone were attempting to enter the house. When she awoke in the morning, a decorative item that was usually on her porch was located in the driveway.

    A report was filed, and the complainant was asked to call the police the next time she believed someone was attempting to break into her home.

  • One of our officers stopped a vehicle for speeding. While talking to the driver, the officer noticed that her eyes were "glossy", and that she slurred her words as she spoke. There was also an odor of marijuana wafting from her open window. When asked if she had been drinking that evening, the woman replied that she had "one shot" approximately an hour before.

    . At one point, the officer asked the driver to exit the vehicle. As she stepped out, a small bag of marijuana could be seen tucked into the top of her bra. When confronted about this, the woman handed the bag to the officer, while claiming that it had been given to her "by a friend". During the course of the subsequent investigation, the officer found additional evidence to suggest that the woman had been operating the vehicle while under the influence. She was then placed under arrest and charged with Speeding and DUI (Less Safe).

  • Officers responded to a local motel in reference to a person sleeping in the parking lot. During the course of the investigation, officers learned that the individual had been reported missing from Chatham County's jurisdiction. They were then given a courtesy ride back to their residence and successfully reunited with their family.

  • One of our officers stopped a vehicle for driving the wrong way on Tybrisa, a one-way street.

    While talking to the driver, the officer noticed that his eyes were "glossy" and that he slurred his words as he spoke. When asked, the man admitted to having "one mixed drink". During the course of the subsequent investigation, the officer found additional evidence to suggest that the man had been operating the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. He was then placed under arrest and charged with Wrong Way on a One Way, Open Container, and DUI (.08 or more).

    Later that evening, another officer stopped a vehicle for traveling in the wrong direction on the same one-way street.

    While talking to the driver, the officer noticed that his eyes were bloodshot and that he slurred his words as he spoke. There was also an odor similar to that of an alcoholic drink emitting from the open window. When asked if he would participate in Standardized Field Sobriety Testing, the man refused. He was then placed under arrest and charged with Wrong Way on a One-Way Street and DUI (Less Safe).
